Rumination (New Spin-Off!), Remaster Updates, and More!
Now that Spooktober and Next Fest are over, we can finally catch our breath... and boy do we have a lot to discuss!
First and foremost, we'd be remiss if we didn't bring up our new release, Up All Night: Rumination... a spin-off which follows Up All Night protag Nick Torres years after the events that forever changed his life. Constantly haunted by the ghosts of his past, Nick seeks solace in licensed therapist Patricia Rathburn. Unfortunately, Therapy can't fix everything.
Up All Night: Rumination can be considered a direct spin-off to the Up All Night 'True End,' and the build-up to our upcoming sequel, currently in pre-production. It's a much smaller project, but we hope it's enough to wet your tongue as we delve into the next installment. Much like Up All Night last year, Rumination was developed in a single month for the 2021 Spooktober Visual Novel Jam, and is available for free. While regular ratings aren't open until the end of October, if you play Up All Night: Rumination we encourage you to rate it on the Jam game page.
Secondly, we've recently updated the remastered demo. A game crashing error managed to slip into the demo build, related to the self-voicing feature built into Ren'Py. It has since been resolved, and the updated demo is now running smoothly. If you haven't yet, we encourage you to take a look at all our shiny new features, and get excited for the upcoming remaster; set to release on October 20!
Up All Night also now has its own category on Twitch! And if you're a streamer (or know some streamers) we'd love to see the tag get some use... especially as we delve deeper and deeper into the spooky season. If you do stream Up All Night, don't forget to tag us on Twitter.
Finally, as we approach the remaster launch, we just want to remind all our lovely followers to wishlist the game on Steam. This helps immensely with visibility, even if you plan on supporting the itch.io version. The more eyes we get on Up All Night, the more enthusiastic we become for developing the sequel... and I can tell y'all right now, we're totally hyped. You should be, too.
Anyway, thanks for reading! We know that was a lot to drop on y'all, so we appreciate you taking the time to keep up on all our little (and big!) updates. Our fans and followers truly make the hard work worth it, and inspire us to continue to create.
Thanks again, and until next time... stay fiendish!
