Full Release is LIVE!
It’s been a wild ride (and almost 20 days past our initial goal), but the full release of Up All Night is finally here!
We’ve poured our blood, sweat, and tears into bringing you this game, and are very excited for people to play it as it was intended... binged in its entirety as you sit in bed, computer on your lap, endlessly clicking into the dark moonlit hours of early morning. Or, you know, however.
Some notes:
Yes, Up All Night remains –and will remain -- 100% free! That said, we have added an option to donate as many of our supporters have expressed a desire to contribute to our budding studio. Please do not feel obligated, but we of course appreciate the gesture.
The game now contains eight individual endings. We will be releasing a full guide to unlocking them all, shortly. It will be available as a free, downloadable PDF.
The GUI has been modified, and now contains an option to exit (upper left), along with a configuration menu for volume and text speed adjustments. We’ve also added a gallery to the title screen so you can track your CG accomplishments.
Voting for Spooktober entries is currently broken, so we’ve gone ahead and disabled it until the event is over (or voting is fixed). We anticipate this happening on November 1st (hopefully), when the jam judging has ended. We will likely make a devlog when the time comes, encouraging people to rate. In the meantime you should still be able to comment on the game page, and we encourage you to do so!
As first-time devs, your feedback is critical to our improvement. Please don’t hesitate to report any errors you find, including typos and glitches. We think we’ve picked most of them out, but to err is human. Unfortunately we’ve encountered a few unfixable issues (such as the red memory not transitioning smoothly over the blue, and flickering in the corners of video backgrounds), but we hope you can look past them and continue to enjoy the game for its dark, intricate storytelling and emotive artwork.
Finally, to celebrate the launch of our game, we will soon be hosting a small raffle on twitter. The randomly selected winner will receive two glossy stickers of Up All Night’s prominent side characters, Felix and Grayson. Follow us on twitter @FiendishFiction and keep your eyes open for the upcoming post to participate!
With all that said, we really hope you enjoy the full release of Up All Night... and we look forward to hearing your thoughts! Stay fiendish!
